Register a childminding service
The Chief Fire Officer Association on behalf of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has produced guidance on the fire precautions childminders should take.
It has been developed to ensure a consistent national approach to fire precautions in domestic childminding premises by Scottish Fire and Rescue Services.

We expect all childminders to follow the fire safety procedures described in the guidance.
One of our inspectors will carry out a home visit as part of your registration and you will have the chance to discuss the guidance with us then.
You will have to submit a Fire Safety Checklist to your local Fire and Rescue Service and confirm this in writing to us.
