Register a care service (excluding childminders)
By law, care services in Scotland must be registered with the Care Inspectorate. We regulate care services according to the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act).
You must not provide a care service if you are not registered with us.
We assess the quality of services to make sure they meet the Health and Social Care Standards, which are published by the Scottish Government.
Caring for vulnerable people is an important responsibility and there are various requirements that you must meet before you can begin.
Fees
A registration fee for services varies, depending on the type of service and size. This must be paid before we can consider your application. An annual continuation fee is also applied for every year that you are registered.
