Assurance and Improvement

The assurance and improvement directorate is focused on helping to improve outcomes for people who use care services in Scotland. We do this by supporting our organisation to become wellbeing-led, ensuring that staff are equipped with the right skills and support to feel motivated and confident, and to excel in their role.

We work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to develop scrutiny and regulatory methodology, focusing on quality and innovation.  Intelligence and risk assessment is used to prioritise, undertake and report on scrutiny and improvement activity.

Where required, we will arrange support to improve the quality of social care and social work.

Above all, our role is to ensure that the voice of people using care, and that of their carers, is central.
