12 Nov 20151. The Provider must, having regard to the size and nature of the care service, the statement of aims and objectives and the number and needs of service users, ensure that at all times suitably qualified and competent persons are working in the service in such numbers as are appropriate for the health and safety of service users. In particular, the provider must:
· Keep a record of an assessment that identifies the minimum staffing level and deployment of staff on each shift over a four week period. This will take into account aggregated information of the social, psychological and recreational needs and choices in relation to the delivery of care for all individuals, also taking account of the physical layout of the building, staff training and staff supervision.
This is in order to comply with Social care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations Scottish Statutory Instruments 210/2011 Regulation 4 (1) (a) Welfare of Users and Regulation 15 (a) Staffing.
